Text Box: Lakeside Hothfield
This water is currently experiencing some trouble with low water levels and very clear water leading to excessive weed growth in the summer. we are working to resolve these issues but while they persist, fishing can be difficult.
This fishery is in the grounds of an old peoples home and due care must be taken when fishing this venue. Please do not arrive too early, or fish too late as this can disturb the residents.
This is a beautiful water set in a forest glade, with between 20 and 30 swims, kept in excellent condition. The fishing can be fickle, but the large head of perch are consistent feeders, and there are a good number of roach to over a pound if you are lucky enough to catch them. There are also a fair few smallish pike, and reports of large eels and the odd tench to make this a water well worth fishing.
Top method is the pole with maggot worm or caster scoring, depending on the quarry sought. The juniors have had some good sessions on the perch with the whip, if your speed fishing needs some fine tuning.
