This stretch of the River Beult is very different to the one at Cross at Hand.
There is a small weir under the bridge at the start of the venue which ensures there is usually a little flow.
The River itself is not as variable in depth, averaging around 3 feet with some deeper holes to around 5 feet. There is a good head of roach, supplemented with the occasional large chub and the odd barbel. As with all of the Beult, pike are plentiful and a good days sport is assured if these are your quarry.
